The United Nations Environment Programme has announced six winners of the earth guard award 2020. This year's earth guard award winners are:

Prime Minister mbeni marama of Fiji: he won the "policy leadership" category Award for his contribution to global climate action and his active efforts to promote the development of climate sensitive countries.

       Mindy lubber from the United States: mobilizing top investors and companies to actively promote climate action and sustainable development business case to promote green capital market, was awarded the "business excellence" category award.

       Nemont nequemo from Ecuador: he was awarded the "incentive and action Award" for his unity and leadership of indigenous communities in successfully stopping drilling and mining activities in the Ecuadorian Amazon rainforest.

       Yakuba savadogo, from the country, was awarded the "incentive and action Award" for his efforts to teach farmers about the traditional nature based solutions he had mastered, which enhanced the natural restoration of soil, and successfully transformed Africa's barren land into arable land and forests.

       This year's earth guard award also honors Professor Robert D. Brad from the United States for his "lifelong achievement award" for his contribution to environmental justice.
